Craft Dabble Day

Ticket entrance in advance:£4.50, on the door:£5.00

Tea and coffee available all day.

There will be a wide range of Craft Tables where you will be able to make an item or two to take home. Each item will have a small charge to cover material costs but all tuition is covered by your entrance fee.

You will be able to try out different card making, quilling, fabric crafts, beading, painting on ceramics or Canal Art.

Demonstrations by the experts and from various companies with knitting machines, sewing machines and all kinds of crafting materials to look at and /or buy.

Finally the opportunity to clear out your unused craft items to bring along to our Bring and Buy Craft Sales Table.

Annual Council Meeting

This year’s Annual Council Meeting will be held on Wednesday, 6th October at the Town Hall, Sutton Coldfield.

The Board of Trustees are pleased to announce that Ruth Bond, our National Chairman will be present as will the Lord Mayor of Birmingham, Craig Wood People&Wildlife Service Manager from the Wildlife Trust for Birmingham and The Black Country and our guest speaker Matthew Collins. For 10years Matthew Collins was “Special Assignments Man” for tv’s The Travel Show. Each week on the programme he was given a challenge. These ranged from travelling overland to Spain with his leg in plaster(to sample travelling facilities for the disabled people), to spending a week alone in a French nudist camp where single men and photography were banned(he was alone with three cameras around his neck) A speaker not to be missed

Mrs Celia Wright, the Midlands Area Co-ordinator for Project Linus will be present to collect your blankets and quilts which you have been making the year We looking forward to seeing the results of your labours of love and stitching over the previous months.

Trustees Trophy:Has your Women’s Institute designed and made a cover for your year book. There is still time to enter this competition as the finished cover is to be delivered to County House by Tuesday, 28th September

Come and see the displays,purchase items from Country Markets, the gift shop and publications. Discover which WI won a trophy or was awarded a certificate, meet your friends over a cup of coffee or during the lunch break and perhaps make new friends too. Make it a fun day out and enjoy the company.
